Men's Basketball Players Receive Academic All-Conference
Eight members of the Dawson Community College Men’s Basketball Team were honored by being named Academic All-Conference. The selection criteria for the MonDak Conference is for the players to carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the Fall Semester. The sophomores who received the honor were Kade Osborne, Brendon Chevannes, Gavin McPherson, Tyrick Thompson and Ryan Strong. The freshmen were Brent Finn, Tate Savoie and Bret Vester.
DC Coach Joe Peterson commented, “I’m proud of these individuals who have excelled on the court and in the classroom. Eight of the eleven members of the team were honored for their academic achievement. Two others have also shown great improvement. Stefan Stubbs has raised his GPA every semester he has been at Dawson and Daniel Shedden has overcome cultural and language barriers to succeed academically. They all realize that they are students first and athletes second.”
