DCC Bucs win 3rd straight
Bucs defeat Eastern Montana All-Stars 115-49
The Dawson Community College men continued their winning streak to open the season with their 3rd straight win. The game against the Eastern Montana All-Stars on Thursday night was never in question. The Bucs opened the game on an 11-3 run and never looked back, cruising to a 115-49 victory. It was their first home game of the season and a great way to christen the new season at the Toepke Center on their campus.
The Bucs dominated the first half by holding the All-Stars to 17% shooting and forcing them into 11 turnovers. Three Buccaneers posted double digits in the first half led by Ryan Strong’s 13 points on perfect shooting from the field. Strong remained perfect in the 2nd half too. For the game he finished with 22 points by shooting 7 for 7 from the field which included six 3-pointers. He also went 2 for 2 from the free-throw line and chipped in with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. All 13 Bucs played and everyone scored. Victor Henriquez led the team with 11 rebounds. The Bucs shot 50% for the game and 53% from the 3 point line going 16 for 30.
The Buccaneers next game will be Saturday at home against the Rocky Mountain College JV’s at 4:00 pm.
