In their second matchup of the season, playing in the Fortin Center, Rocky Mountain College JV could not handle the defensive pressure of Dawson Community College. The visiting Lady Buccaneers defeated the Battlin’ Bears 77-46.
Dawson raced out of the gate, ending the first quarter 24-5 and went into the half leading 41-16. Rocky JV could never get any closer than 25 in the second half. DCC Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. expressed his remarks, “It’s always unpredictable playing in the Fortin Center. Rocky runs a great program overall. So we always tell our players to stay awake, and never get caught sleeping. We’re just trying to improve in every game we play before we head into conference play.”
Tri-Cities product Brianna Bergum led the game with 14 points. Logan Stetzner of Anaconda pumped in 12 points.
Dawson will have a quick turnaround and be on the road once again Tuesday to face Dickinson State University JV for a 6:00 pm tip off. The Lady Buccaneers are now 7-3 with five games left before the Christmas break.
