Lady Bucs Basketball Add Minnesota Standout
Dawson Community College Women’s Basketball added another standout player hailing from the state of Minnesota. Krisalyn Seeyle, a 5’9 guard, signed her official NJCAA National Letter of Intent to play for the Buccaneers for the 2022-2023 season.
DCC Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. commented on Krisalyn's signing, "Krisalyn is a hooper. Her game is displayed in a variety of ways. She can attack and score beyond the arc, drive and finish on a pass or layup, play very good tenacious defense, and has solid court vision. Knowing that she comes from a winning program and mentality, Krisalyn will fit right in with our style of play and environment."
A product of Cass Lake-Bena High School, located in Cass Lake, MN, Krisalyn’s senior season was a very successful one. Cass Lake lost in the Class 1A State Quarterfinals ending their season with a 28-4 overall record and an undefeated 14-0 in conference play. Krisalyn averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. She was voted Class A All-State Honorable Mention, All Conference 1st Team and All Conference Playmaker of the Year. As a junior, during the covid pandemic, she averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during a 17-4 record. She was selected a 1st Team All-Conference player and was part of another undefeated 14-0 conference record, Section 8A Championship and a Class A State appearance. In her sophomore year, she was voted 2nd Team All-Conference, while Cass Lake-Bena had a 20-8 overall record as conference runners-up.
Cass Lake-Bena Girl’s Coach Martin Wind said, “Krisalyn Seelye is a big time player. I’m super proud of her wanting to take her talent to the next level and attend college to not only play basketball, but to get a good education as well. I would say she is the best coast to coast player around. As soon as she gets a steal or rebound, she is pushing the ball to score. She plays both ends of the floor, long and lengthy, she can guard anyone on the court at any time. Kris has good court vision and is willing to make the extra pass, giving up a good shoot to get a great shoot. She can shoot from anywhere on the court. The D1 juco route will improve Krisalyn’s game to a new level and I can’t wait to see where she goes with it.”
Krisayln commented on her decision, “I’ve chosen to attend Dawson CC because I feel like it’s right for me. When I toured the campus I enjoyed everything about it. Coach Romeo played a big role in my decision too. I like his style of play and the way he coaches. I’m so excited to be able to continue my basketball career and further my education also!”
