DCC Women to Host 8th Annual Play 4Kay Game
On Thursday, February 10, the Dawson Community College women’s basketball team will host its 8th Annual Play 4Kay Pink Night vs. Williston State College.
In the last three years, DCC has been honored among two-year colleges in the nation for raising the most funds. Dawson’s Kay Yow Cancer Fund trophies can be seen along with all the other athletics trophy and awards displayed in the Toepke lobby. This year the Lady Buccaneers plan to do the same by having another fun night of pink action with the community of Glendive and the campus of DCC all in support of the National Breast Cancer Awareness campaign held throughout the country at all levels and divisions of women’s and girl’s basketball.
Dawson County has been very generous supporting this cause with local businesses donating many appealing prizes for raffle tickets sold by the Lady Bucs. Men’s basketball will also join in on the festivities by wearing their pink attire alongside the women’s basketball staff and players. Along with raffle tickets, general donations will be accepted as well. The entire Toepke Center will be decorated in detailed pink ensembles of streamers, posters, balloons, banners and anything else that can be plastered pink. With full entertainment in full effect, Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. will wear his traditional eyeliner, along with pink nails, pink blush, pink shoelaces, and pink earring. Even the game ball will be brightly colored in pink.
The women will tip off at 5:30 and the men will follow at 7:30 pm. During timeouts, halftimes and between games, winners will be announced and they can choose from among the many prizes that will be present on site.
Raffle ticket costs are $1/ticket, $5/6 tickets, $10/12 tickets, $15/18 tickets, $20/ 25 tickets. All proceeds from purchased tickets will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Checks can be made out to: Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Fans get in for free if they are wearing LOTS of pink attire. For any questions, please contact Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. at 406-377-9450 or rlagmay@dawson.edu
