Baseball Adds Utah Midfielder
TJ Stevens commits to DCC
The Buccaneer Baseball program added middle infielder TJ Stevens over the winter break from Fillmore, Utah. Stevens just completed his two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Vancouver, WA.
Stevens graduated in 2014 from Millard High School where he was a 1st team All-State selection batting over .410 with 12 doubles and two home runs. TJ also played for Mountain West Baseball Academy in Salt Lake City during the summer and fall seasons.
Stevens said, “I chose Dawson Community College because I feel they will give me the best chance at improving and getting the time I need to achieve my higher goal of playing at the next level.”
Head Coach Chris Lewis says, "We are excited to have TJ join us. He will bring athleticism to the middle of the field and a good amount of maturity to the program. Even though he has been away from the game for a couple of years, he is a good athlete and a strong kid. So once we can get the rust knocked off, he will have a shot to compete in the middle."
TJ will major in General Studies while attending DCC with the intent to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy at a later date.
