BASEBALL GET BLUEGRASS KICKBACK
DCC adds another pitcher
Dawson Community College Baseball lands its second commitment for winter break. Nathan Davis will be joining the Bucs in January as a RHP transfer. Davis hails from Florence, Kentucky and played his high school baseball at Boone County High School, graduating in 2015. He played last year at Campbellsville University, an NAIA institution and a member of the Mid-South Conference, located in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
“I was talking with Coach Sanders and Coach Neffendorf at CU about our needs for spring and Nathan came up. Having coached at CU for 6 years, I know that program well and what it stands for on and off the field. He will be a great fit for us and we expect him to make an immediate impact to our pitching staff,” says Head Coach Chris Lewis.
Davis has played for the Cincinnati Spikes in the summer, another program with very high expectations of their players both on and off the field. “When you can bring in an arm that has played for quality programs like CU & The Spikes, you know he has faced quality hitters, understands competition and understands the importance of creating a culture.”
Davis chose to transfer to Dawson to gain more experience, get more innings on the mound, and improve his pitch-ability and the ability to mechanically repeat his delivery. “He is a smart young man who understands his strengths and weaknesses. He has the desire to learn, and since our program is based on teaching and helping our players prepare for the next level, I really think it will be a great fit.”
