Dawson Baseball Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Dakota College

Dawson Community College took the lead late and defeated Dakota College at Bottineau 9-5 on Saturday. Dawson Community College was down 5-3 in the top of the sixth inning when Gunnar Garpestad doubled off of Kluin, driving in three runs.

Dawson Community College earned the victory despite allowing Dakota College at Bottineau to score four runs in the fifth inning. Dakota College at Bottineau's big inning was driven by a double by Sumstine, a single by Prater, and a single by Horvath.

Dawson Community College took an early lead in the first inning. Trevor Meier drove in one when he singled in the first inning.

After Dawson Community College scored one run in the top of the fourth, Dakota College at Bottineau answered with one of their own. Dawson Community College scored when there was an error, scoring one run. Dakota College at Bottineau then answered when Terrero homered off of Billy Mourer, driving in one run.

Dakota College at Bottineau knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two outs in the fifth inning Prater drove in one run when he singled.

Mourer earned the win for Dawson Community College . He threw five innings, allowing five runs, five hits, and striking out five. Kluin took the loss for Dakota College at Bottineau. He went seven innings, allowing nine runs, 11 hits, striking out five, and walking one.

Dawson Community College had 11 hits in the game. Andrew Bowles, Gunnar Garpestad, Tristen Petersen, and Meier each collected multiple hits for Dawson Community College . Meier, Petersen, Garpestad, and Bowles each managed two hits to lead Dawson Community College .
