DCC Baseball Player Andrew Bowles signs with NCAA DII Adams State
DCC Sophomore catcher and outfielder, Andrew Bowles, signed a Letter of Intent with NCAA DII Adams State University. The Palisade, Colorado native was selected to the 2016 Mon-Dak All Conference Team during his freshman season at DCC. During his sophomore year, Bowles was named to the DCC Dean’s List in both the fall and spring semesters and was recently named to the NJCAA All-Academic Team, earned by student athletes who carry a 3.60 GPA thru the school year.
On the field, Bowles led the team in runs scored, doubles, home runs, RBIs, and slugging percentage, earning him the Mon-Dak Conference Player of The Year Award and a selection to the NJCAA All-Region XIII Team.
DCC Coach Chris Lewis had this to say, “We are really happy for Andrew because Adams State was at the top of his list. He wanted to get closer to home, he knows players in the program and they have the major he is pursuing, so it is a great fit. He worked very hard this year both on and off the field and he is well deserving of each and every accolade he received. He is a tremendous young man, and is a great representation of his family and our program. We will surely miss him here, but we couldn’t be happier for him and the next chapter of his career. Adams State is getting a quality person and a quality player.”
Adams State University is located in Alamosa, Colorado, situated in the San Luis Valley and is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
