Baseball Bucs Add Two More
Dawson Anderson – OF/1B – 5’8/195 – Northridge High School, Utah
Coach Chris Lewis commented, “Dawson has been away from the game for a bit, but he is going to have a shot to compete in the outfield and at 1B. He is a good kid, with a great work ethic and will bring some maturity and life experience to the clubhouse. As he works this fall to get back into baseball shape, it will be fun to watch him progress.”
Anderson had this to say about why he chose Dawson CC, ''I am very thankful for the opportunity and second chance the coaching staff at DCC has given me to compete at this level. I am very excited to work hard and contribute to the program. I think Dawson CC will be a great fit for me making the transition back to school both on the field and in the classroom. I have heard great things about DCC so it was easy to commit here.''
Dawson Anderson played at Northridge High School in Utah and is currently playing in the Utah AABL.
Mackenzie Pearson – RHP/2B – Miles CC Transfer – Queensland, Australia
Before playing for Miles CC, Pearson played back in Australia for the Queensland Bandits and the Gold Coast Cougars where he earned a regional selection, state selection and Golden Arm at School Boys State Championships in 2015.
Pearson on why he chose to transfer to DCC, “I am excited to be a Buccaneer. Playing baseball at the next level is a priority of mine and the DCC Baseball program can help me get there. I believe that DCC is the best place for me as a student, athlete and a person.”
“We are really happy that we were able to land Mackenzie. He threw 14 innings last year at Miles, struck out 17, good for 10.43 K/9. We just need to simplify a few things for Mack, and I think he has a shot to be pretty good. He is a good young man, who shows some maturity and really takes care of the classroom. It will be fun to get to work with him and do what we can to move him on to the next level.”
