Coach Lewis Adds Minnesota State Native to Roster
Jack Bowman commits to DCC Baseball
The Baseball Buccaneers of DCC add another arm and corner infielder to the mix for the 2017-2018 season with the signing of Jack Bowman from Grand Rapids High School in Minnesota. Jack was selected to play on the Northern Minnesota All-Star Team last summer and was also selected to the All-Section 7AA Team. Bowman, a multisport athlete in hockey, football and baseball, chose Dawson because “it was one of the only places that felt like a true fit and when I visited, I can honestly say it was everything I have hoped for in a school to play college baseball at. I could not be more excited to start playing baseball this fall.”
Bowman also had this to say, “I've played hockey since I was six years old and besides baseball, it is definitely my favorite sport. My last year of Bantam hockey we won the state championship, and this year (senior year) we won the high school state championship. It has been one of my biggest athletic accomplishments, especially in such a hockey oriented town like Grand Rapids. I also played football since grade school and played 3 years of varsity football. I can't begin to explain how much playing multiple sports can help you progress as an athlete, and all the skills you will need the rest of your life.”
Head Coach Chris Lewis says, “Jack will add some nice depth to our roster and give the staff another complimentary arm on the right side for the 2017-2018 season.” Assistant Coach Bobby Schoonover also added, “Jack will fit in nicely with the program here and his work ethic will shine as he will transition smoothly to the collegiate level with his multi-sport background.”
