Baseball adds Wyoming Middle Infielder
Jeff Shanor latest signee for Coach Lewis
Born and Raised in Sheridan, Wyoming, new baseball commit, Jeff Shanor, will be heading north to begin his college baseball career at Dawson Community College as middle infielder. A graduate of Sheridan High School, Shanor has always played for his hometown American Legion program and last summer while playing for the Sheridan Troopers. He was selected 1st Team All-State, hitting .401 with 62 RBI, 91 hits and 22 stolen bases.
Head Coach Chris Lewis says, “He is a good defender with good defensive actions and has good range in the middle infield. It is always great to add a player who can run the bases well. He will fit right in from that standpoint. Offensively, he can swing it well and does a great job of driving in runs, something we greatly need. He is just a good baseball player and a good athlete and we are excited to have him.”
Shanor commented on his signing saying, “I chose Dawson because I love the small town crowd, how close it is to home, and where the future of the program is going. I also believe Dawson has the right courses for me to get my major in Business Administration.”
