RHP/CIF Jordan Wagner Moves signs NCAA
Baseball Players signs with Salem International University
Sophomore right handed pitcher and corner infielder Jordan Wagner, will be moving on for the spring semester. Jordan will be heading east to Salem, West Virginia to play for NCAA DII Salem International University which, is an independent member of the NCAA.
As a freshman, Wagner was second on the pitching staff with 40 innings and making 9 appearances. He gave up 29 earned runs and recording 6 strikeouts per game. He held opponents to a .239 batting average.
DCC baseball coach Chris Lewis has this to say, “We are really happy for Jordan, he worked hard to put himself in a situation to move on to the next level. I am really glad that he found an opportunity that was a fit for him athletically and academically at SIU. They are working to build their program over there just like we are here and I think he is in a good position to help them on the mound. He showed a great work ethic on the field and in the weight room, was a great student of the game and did a really good job in the classroom. We will feel his absence on the mound this spring, but this is what our program is about, helping our players move on to the next level. He is a great young man, we will all miss him, but we are proud of him and wish him the best at SIU and we will be rooting for him every step of the way.”
