Women’s Basketball Wins Season Opener
DCC defeats NHSC 83-54
Dawson Community College Women’s Basketball has officially started. In their first official game of the season, the Lady Bucs hosted Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College at the Toepke Center. The Lady Bucs dominated throughout the game defeating the Lady Storm 83-54.
DCC started five guards that showed superior quickness on the court. The fast break system Head Coach Romeo Lagmay implemented was very apparent during the contest. “We went with a starting lineup I believe had all the tools to out condition their opponent on both ends of the court. We really go after it during our pre-season workout in preparation of conditioning to the fullest. So tonight, we wanted to show what we have been training for,” said Coach Lagmay.
Lady Bucs led by as much as 42 points. Freshman Alexius Foster led the team with 21 points, 4 assists and 4 steals. Sophomore transfer Julia Robarge scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Park City, Montana Freshman MacKinzie Verke added 11 points with 4 assists and 3 steals.
