Lady Bucs Basketball sign Madi McMahon of Helena
The Lady Bucs of Dawson Community College received their second in-state commitment from Madi McMahon of Capital High School in Helena, MT. 5’5 Madi will be the first point guard signing her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to suit up this Fall 2018 season for DCC.
Madi averaged 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 assists per game for the Lady Bruins. Capital High School had a 20-6 record, making it to 3rd place in Divisional play and 4th in the Class AA State playoffs. She also was an Academic All-State honoree.
Very excited with her choice of college, Madi said, “Playing basketball at the next level has been a lifelong dream of mine, and as soon as I picked up my first basketball, I was determined to make that dream come true. It’s crazy to see that finally all the blood, sweat, tears and hard work has paid off. I could not have done it without the tremendous support of my family, friends, teammates and numerous coaches along the way. With that being said, I would like to thank Coach Romeo for not only the opportunity to fulfill my dream, but also receive a great education, and pursue my dream job of teaching and coaching.
Head Coach Bill Pilgeram of Helena was also pleased saying, “Madi has been an amazing servant leader and teammate here at Capital! DCC is getting a great person and player! I’m excited to see her impact at Dawson and follow her progress for the next two years!”
DCC Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. commented on his new point guard, “Madi and I have been in correspondence for quite a while. She definitely showed me she has great communication skills. She’s thorough in her discussions as to what expectations she has of herself and of me. Madi has impressed me from day one, not only because of her intelligent conversation about the game and academics, but because I could see on film she exemplifies what a pure point guard is on the court. I can’t wait to see what else she can do with the ball when surrounded by our other work horses committing to Dawson.”
