Lady Bucs Basketball Honored at DCC’s Annual Awards Banquet
Dawson Community College held its longtime Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Throughout the banquet, coaches, staff and faculty were able to present prestigious awards and scholarships to students and athletes in their respective programs.
Some members of the Lady Buccaneers Basketball Team were given special awards:
- Alexius Foster (Tacoma, WA)- Most Valuable Player
- Emily Harwood (Conrad, MT)- Top Rebounder
- MacKinzie Verke (Park City, MT)- Free Throw Champion
- Ejanae Coopwood (Las Vegas, NV)- Mrs. Hustle
- Sara Anderson (Belt, MT)- Most Pivotal
Women’s Basketball Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. enjoyed this past season, “It was a really special season for 2018. I actually enjoyed this year’s team because honestly they were special. They listened and responded in a positive fashion during training, practice and games, didn’t complain, participated in many community service projects, earned good academic marks and definitely overachieved despite some obstacles throughout the year and were able to have a 20 win season. So I’d say I enjoyed them very much.”
