Softball Wins the Series Against MCC
The Lady Bucs played Miles Community College this past Monday in Glendive and Tuesday in Miles City. Winning the series, the Bucs won three of the four games. They won both games at home on two very exciting walk offs! Scores for those games were 2-1 and 10-9. On Tuesday, they split on the road, losing the first game 4-1 and then winning the second game 8-5.
Sophomores Emery Bishop and Demi Choate had the game winning hits on Monday. Choate hitting a three run homerun to walk it off.
Offensively, the Bucs hit for a .305 average, totaling 35 hits, eight doubles, two homeruns, and 19 RBIs. Allie Anderson and Jojo Sparks led the offensive charge throughout the series! Both hit over a .550 average with a collective 12 hits, four doubles and zero strikeouts.
"This is always a big series for us," head softball coach Casey-May Huff said, "it was nice to see the girls have to handle some pressure, especially with the two walk offs. We are controlling the controllables better and the girls are settling in to handling one pitch and one inning at a time, which is something we work on everyday."
Softball will be back in action this weekend versus Dakota College at Bottineau. Games will be played at home Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 & 3:00 PM MST.
