Softball Off to A Great Start
This past weekend the Lady Bucs went to Jamestown for a four-game tournament. Finishing the weekend 3-1, the Bucs outscored their opponents 38-20. They played Dakota College (14-2), Williston State (5-0), Lake Region (13-4), and North Dakota Science (6-14).
Some of the heavy contributors this weekend were Oakley Clark, Jenna Lloyd, and Aya Larson. Clark had a .667 AVG, with eight hits, five runs, and three doubles. Lloyd posted a .615 AVG, with eight hits, one double, nine runs scored and four stolen bases. Larson hit .444, with four hits, two doubles, and four runs scored.
In the circle, Allied Anderson and Jenna pitched a collective 21 innings. They faced 101 batters, only allowing 18 hits, 10 earned runs, 12 walks, and 25 strikeouts. This posted an average ERA of 3.33 between the two of them.
"The girls are playing well," head softball coach Casey-May Huff stated, "we definitely got better this last week as we were able to compete better against NDSCS. They are a great team and will be tough to beat in conference, but so are we when we play like we can."
The Lady Bucs will be off this weekend, but will hit the road on February 27th to Scottsbluff, NE for a four game series against Western Nebraska.
