Texas Catcher Commits to Montana
The Buccaneers recently announced the commitment of catcher/utility player, Blaire Spurlock. She will be joining the Buccaneers this upcoming Fall of 2026.
Spurlock, the daughter of Meridith and Dale Spurlock of Rosharon, TX, will graduate from Manvel High School in May.
During her time in high school, Blaire received many awards for both softball and academics. Her freshman year she was Defensive Player of the Year, her sophomore year she was Offensive Player of the Year, and her junior year she was All-District Designated Player of the year. Academically, Blaire received the All-District Academic Award from freshman year to her junior year. She is also a current member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
When asked why she chose Dawson, Spurlock said, "I choice Dawson because its comforting environment felt like stepping into a place I was meant to be. There is a strong sense of community and I felt this on my visit. Everyone made me instantly feel as if I was one of their own, making the decision easy."
Head softball coach, Casey-May Huff, had this to say about her, "We are really looking forward to Blaire and what we know she can bring to the table the next couple years. She brings power, athleticism, and strength in the classroom. We are very happy to be welcoming her into the DCC family."
