DCC’s Egbule Signs with Dickinson State for Basketball
Dawson Guard Kose Egbule from Houston, TX signed a National Letter of Intent with Dickinson State University. Egbule will play basketball for the Blue Hawks next season. The 6’3 guard is the 9th DCC basketball player to sign with a four-year school this year. While at Dawson, Egbule helped the Bucs to a 50-9 record in two seasons along with 4 championships including back to back region championships and Dawson’s first ever trip to NJCAA D1 Nationals in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Glendive native and former Dawson County High School star, Derek Selvig, is the coach of the Blue Hawks. Selvig commented, “We are very excited to add Kose to our program. He brings a level of toughness and work ethic that will help set the tone with our team moving forward.”
He averaged 6.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.3 spg this past season and brought energy offensively and defensively every time he stepped on the court.
Dawson Coach Joe Peterson shared, “Kose has battled through injuries both years with us, but he is a tough young man mentally and physically. We were a different team when he was healthy and on the floor for us. He impacts the game in so many ways and was always ready to go no matter what we asked of him. He had some big moments for us and kept getting better throughout his time at DCC. I’m very confident he can make a big impact at the next level. I think Dickinson is getting a steal!”
Egbule will be joining two of his former teammates at DSU, Riley Spoonhunter and Cordell Stinson.
