Dawson Basketball Adds Cedric Jackson
6’6” 215 pound forward Cedric Jackson signed a Letter of Intent to the join the Buccaneer basketball team next year. Jackson is currently attending prep school at Clearwater Academy International in Florida where he averaged 9 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks per game for Coach Pete Alexandrou this season.
Dawson Coach Joe Peterson described Jackson, “Ced is a really skilled big. He can score inside and outside, has a great touch and good understanding of the game, but what I love even more is his motor. He plays really hard and loves to compete. I think his character and work ethic are going to allow him to develop into a really good college basketball player.”
Jackson attended high school at Howard W. Blake High School in Tampa, Florida where he averaged 13 ppg and 8 rpg while shooting 36% from 3-point range and 80% from the free throw line. He was a First Team All-Western Conference Division selection and the All-Star Game MVP. He made the game winning shot for Blake High School in the District Semifinal and they went on to win the District Championship. In the first round of the playoffs, Jackson made five 3-pointers in a row and led Blake to the Regional Semifinal where they lost by five.
“I am really looking forward to putting on the Bucs jersey,” exclaimed Jackson. “I have had a chance to talk with the coaches and players and it seems like the perfect environment for me to succeed on the court and in the classroom. I cannot wait to get started!”
