Dawson Volleyball Signs Idaho Setter
Dawson Community College is excited to announce the commitment of Reece Fleming. Fleming is a 5’9” setter from Gooding, Idaho and has a lot of success in multiple sports over her high school career including being a state contender in volleyball, basketball and softball. Her team placed fourth at State her sophomore year and were District Champions and State runners-up in softball her freshman year. She was also named as a 1st team All-Conference selection her senior year.
Fleming has also taken care of business in the classroom as well by maintaining a 3.9 GPA and graduating 9th out of 97 in her class. Fleming commented, “All of the coaches and girls seemed very personable and genuine which is a huge positive thing for me because those are the people I want to surround myself with. The fact that Dawson is pretty small makes me think I will flourish as a student and athlete here.” She continued saying, “I am very excited to get to continue playing the sport I love. It doesn’t look like I will be retiring the red, black and white yet!”
Head Coach Dina Fritz commented about the signing of Fleming saying, “We have a great group of defenders and hitters coming back next season and I am happy to be able to add another setter to the depth that we will have for next year. Reece is a great player and sees the court well and has the level mindset that a setter needs to have to run the floor. She will be a great asset to our team in the fall and I am thrilled that she choose Dawson!”
