Idaho Catcher Coming to Dawson
The Buccaneers recently announced the signing of catcher, Emry Woods. She will be joining the Buccaneers this upcoming Fall of 2025.
Emry, the daughter of Amy Dancer and Brandon Woods of Eagle, Idaho, will graduate from Eagle High School in May 2025.
During her time in high school, Emry was a two-time state placer for wrestling and softball. She has been the starting catcher for high school since her freshman year, which earned her the nomination of Student Athlete of the Year in 2021 and All-American status in 2023.
"I decided to commit to Dawson because the team and the coaches made it feel like home," Emry said when asked why she chose DCC.
Head softball coach, Casey-May Huff, had this to say about Woods, "I am really looking forward to coaching Emry! She brings a lot of great things to the table, both in the classroom and on the field. She has a ton of power and is very smart behind the plate! I have no doubt she will do great things for this program!"
