Future Buccaneer Wins Back to Back State Championships
DCC basketball signee Aidan Fishell wrapped up his high school career with another Class C State Championship Saturday night. His Scobey Spartans have a record of 102-3 during his high school career, finishing 4th place at state his freshman year, 3rd place in his sophomore year and then back to back undefeated seasons as a junior and senior. Fishell led Scobey to a 25-0 record as a junior and 26-0 as a senior. His only losses in high school were in the state tournaments as a freshman and sophomore.
He finished his senior year averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game while shooting 56% from the field, 38% from 3-point range and 76% from the free throw line.
Scobey won this year’s championship game by jumping out to a 40-11 half-time lead against Twin Bridges and coasting to a 64-27 victory.
Fishell signed with Dawson back in December and will be joining the two-time defending conference champions next August as they look to three-peat. With 13 freshman on their roster, the Bucs should return most of their core players next season.
