Bucs Fall Short in Second Series of the Season
The Bucs Wrap up their second series of the year in Tishomingo Oklahoma against Murray State College. Brock Clonce, the one and only lefty of the Buc's Bullpen would get the start on the mound in game 1. Clonce gave up 2 hits and nine runs over ⅓ of an inning. Juan Salaverria would pitch 3 ⅔ innings in relief; allowing 8 hits and 4 earned runs while striking out 1. Riley Bykonen, Juan Salaverria and Dominic Phillips would each collect hits for the Bucs but ultimately the Bucs failed to plate any runs falling 15-0.
In game 2 Joel Bever would be the first to touch the bump for the Bucs. Bever would hold the Aggies to just 1 run through 3 innings. The Bucs offense struck first after a walk and a steal from Salaverria followed by a double from Jace Jarret would put the bucs up 1-0. In the top of the fourth Domonic Phillips would lead off with a solo homerun to deep left putting the bucs ahead 2-1. In the bottom frame of the fourth the Aggies had Joel Bever's number. The Aggies would score 9 runs in the bottom of the fourth. Ultimately Bever would surrender 9 hits and 10 runs; walking 3 batters and striking out 2. Caden Fox would come in relief allowing 3 hits and 4 runs. The Bucs offense would drive in 4 runs on 3 hits all coming from the pair of Jarret and Phillips. The Bucs Fell in game 2 with a final score of 14-4.
Game 3 saw Keenan Hjermstad get his second start of the year. Hjermstad allowed 8 hits and 5 runs (2 earned) over 3 ⅓ innings. Hjermstad struck out one batter and allowed 0 walks. Patrick Reno would come in relief going 1 ⅔ innings allowing no hits and no runs, striking out 2 batters and walking 2 batters. Aaron Tekansik would be the third pitcher on the hill giving up 1 hit 0 runs and 1 walk. The Bucs offense stayed quiet. Jarret and Reisdorfer would both collect a hit each. The Bucs would plate 1 run after a dropped third strike that was thrown away into right field, which would allow Ethan Reisdorfer to cross home for the Bucs. The Bucs fell in game 3, final score of 5-1.
In game 4 Nate Kojetin would get the nod for the Bucs. Kojetin would go 1 inning allowing 2 hits and 2 runs; walking 3 and striking out 2. Boede Rudd came in relief, Giving up 10 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks. Zaydin Nyuli would follow Rudd going 1 inning; allowing 6 runs on 3 hits. Adam Korte would follow going 1 inning; Allowing 4 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 2 batters. Ben Reinker would be the final pitcher out of the bullpen going 1 inning; Reinker allowed for 2 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2 batters. Daniel Bell, Keenan Hjermstad and Ethan Reisdorfer would each tally a hit. Bell, Hjermstad and Aiden Zody- Cayko would each drive in runs for the Bucs. The Bucs fall in the final game 24-4.
