Bucs Track & Field Finishes Indoor Season at Stinger Open
The DCC track and field team finished out their indoor track season this weekend at the Stinger Open at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD.
Kayla Parisien dropped time again this weekend in her mile. Kayla ended up missing the NJCAA national qualifying for Indoor Nationals by seconds. Kayla’s time of 5:39.23 places her within the top 20 best women’s mile times in the nation for the NJCAA.
Jayden Fraser turned around from last week’s 2nd place finish in the 60m with something to prove this week. Jayden won the 60m finals this week with a personal best of 6.99. Heading into the finals he was set at third from his preliminary performance in the 60m, with a time of 7.13 and dropped 0.14 seconds from prelims to finals.
Zach Austin also had a stand out race with a third place finish in his 600m. Zach ran a personal best in his 600m with a time of 1:32.54.
Bucs Head Coach Alex Chase Wolff commented on the indoor season, “We accomplished a lot in a very short amount of time, and I am hoping we can take the momentum from the end of our indoor season, and translate that into our performances when outdoor begins. We have a few weeks to put in some more work and get individuals qualified for outdoor track nationals!”
The Bucs have three full weeks off from racing and will begin racing again on March 20th at the Lockwood High School in Lockwood, MT at the MSUB/Rocky Meet.
