Lady Bucs Sweep Bismarck in Home Series
Dawson Community College Softball fired up the offense in the first inning, when Breana Hiatt singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Four hits from Bailey Hansen helped lead the way for DCC over Bismarck State College 19-4 on Thursday. Hansen singled in the first, homered in the second, doubled in the third, and doubled in the fourth.
The Lady Bucs scored seven runs in the third inning. Tyra Coats, Hiatt, Hansen, Payten Staley, and Faith McDonald all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. They smacked five home runs on the day. Kenadee Beck, Brogan Allen, Hansen and Coats all put one out.
Heather Berrett led things off in the pitcher's circle for DCC. The righty allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Alison Eldridge then came in for the fourth and fifth innings. BSC scored four runs in the fourth inning, but the Buccaneers still managed to pull out the victory.
Overall, the Bucs tallied 20 hits in the game. Hansen, Staley, Mckenzie Harbison, Allen, Coats, Hiatt, and McDonald all had multiple hits. Hansen went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Dawson Community College to the victory.
In game two, Bailey Hansen stayed hot at the plate, driving in six on three hits to lead the Lady Bucs past the Mystics 21-2. Hansen drove in runs on a grand slam in the second and a triple in the third.
They secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the second inning. The offense in the inning was led by Payten Staley, Faith McDonald, Breana Hiatt, Hansen, and Brogan Allen, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
McDonald led them to victory in the circle. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out four and walking zero. Alison Eldridge and Bradie Strang entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Overall, DCC smacked five home runs in the second game. Staley, Allen, Hansen and McDonald all went yard.
Dawson tallied 20 hits. Staley, Hansen, Allen, Jillian Johnson, and McDonald all managed multiple hits. Hansen and Staley each collected three hits to lead the Lady Buccaneers to the win.

The Lady Bucs are on the road for a Friday series versus Williston State College. Game times will be at 12PM and 2PM MST.
