Dawson’s Ajanaku Signs at Missouri Valley College
6'5 Forward David Ajanaku signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball at Missouri Valley College this coming season.
"I am really thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the DCC family," stated Ajanaku. "I enjoyed every moment on and off the court. I'm also thankful to the community for their support of the basketball program. I am excited for my next journey and I cannot wait to see how it turns out."
Ajanaku played his freshman year at College of Sequoias in California and transferred to Dawson before his sophomore year. He is originally from Ondo, Nigeria. This past season he played in all 32 games, starting 30 of them and averaged 19.3 minutes per game. He scored 7.7 points per game while grabbing 4.4 rebounds per game and shooting 47.1% from the field.
"I'm excited for DA," shared Dawson Coach Joe Peterson. "He was so consistent for us this year, showing up every day, putting in the work and helping us be successful. He kept getting better as the season went along. Missouri Valley is getting an outstanding, high character young man, a good student and a strong basketball player."
The Missouri Valley College Vikings are an NAIA program that compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, one of the top conferences in the country. They are coached by Chad Lance who has steered the Vikings for the past twenty years.
