Bucs Sign 6’5 Athletic Texas Standout
The Dawson Buccaneers added Demetric Kindle to their roster for next basketball season. Kindle comes to Dawson from Furr High School in Houston, Texas. Kindle averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals a game while shooting 52% from the field, 38% from the 3-point line and 80% from the free throw line.
"DK adds a lot of athleticism, versatility and scoring to our team," shared Dawson Coach Joe Peterson. "I think he will be a good fit with what we have coming back and who we have signed for next year. I can see him playing multiple positions and helping us in multiple ways."
Kindle led Furr to a 23-4 record overall and 15-1 in the district and a district championship. They made it to the fourth round of the playoffs in Class 4A.
Kindle was selected all-region and all-state. He was also 1st team all-district and the district offensive player of the year.
Demetric explained his decision, "I chose Dawson because Dawson chose me and believed in me. Now it's time to compete."
