After defeating Little Big Horn College earlier in the week, Dawson Community College got a taste of their own medicine, being dominated by Northwest College in Powell, WY by the score of 109-58. The Lady Trappers of Northwest had 5 players in double digit scoring and all 12 players scored with 68 points coming off the bench. DCC had 8 points off the bench.
It was not a pretty sight for the Lady Bucs as they experienced their worst loss of the season. With only three DCC players in double figures, the Lady Bucs were outrebounded 40-21 and accumulated 37 turnovers. Even though the Lady Trappers had a mass amount of 26 turnovers themselves, they managed to dominate on the scoring end. Northwest’s starting five and bench were too high powered and DCC could not defend the perimeter nor the paint.
An optimistic Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. commented saying, “That was really a tough loss for us all to swallow. However it is very tough to play in Powell, and they did the same thing to us last year. So I am hopeful we overcome this defeat, and welcome them to Glendive. I believe we will bounce back when we play them again.”
Alexius Foster and Lexia Bell-White had 13 points apiece. However, Bell-White led the game with 9 turnovers. MacKinzie Verke had 10 points.
