Juco Forward to Transfer to DCC Women's Basketball

DCC has signed a top scoring forward transfer from Gillette College in Wyoming.  A Wisconsin state native, 6-foot-one Julia Robarge has signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Lady Buccaneers for her sophomore season.

Julia led her Gillette team in almost every category.  She was the team’s leading scorer with 13 ppg along with an overall 53% shooting percentage, 41% 3-point percentage and 84% from the free throw line.  Gillette placed second in the Region 9 Northern Division Conference standings with a 12-2 record and an overall 23-9 record on the season.

At Chippewa Falls High School in Wisconsin, Julia was named 1st Team Division 1 All-Conference her senior year and 2nd Team All-Conference her junior year.  She averaged 16 ppg, 7 rpg and 2 bpg.

Julia’s comments to transfer, “I chose Dawson because the coaching staff and players are great and fun to be around.  It’s the best school to help me prepare for the next level.  It just seems like the right fit to take my game to the next level academically and on the court.”

Coach Romeo Lagmay adds, “Julia is very talented in many ways on the court.  She brings great athleticism and a set of advanced skill sets to our program.  She can finish in the open court, knock down the 3 shot, post up down low and shoot the mid-range quite well.  It’s also nice to have a left-handed forward who can ball handle impressively as well.  I believe Dawson will be a great fit for her also to prepare her academically to transition to the 4-year level.”
